Chloe is a sweetheart who was just trying to survive on the streets of Catemaco when she was found and brought into the shelter by FDC volunteers. Chloe is thought to be about 6 or 7 years old and has likely endured a long, difficult life filled with ucertainty. Food insecurity, fear, and abuse would have been her existence. She really deserves a second chance at a life of love and kindness. Like a lot of strays, Chloe was suffering with TVT (transmissible venereal tumours) when she was rescued. Because TVT is very easily transmitted, Chloe was isolated upon intake and given chemo treatments. She is now completely cured and has been brought up to Canada. Currently, Chloe is being fostered in BC by a wonderful foster family but needs to find her forever home.

Chloe’s foster mom Stacy tells us: “Chloe is such a beautiful dog!   She is kind and gentle, gets along well with other dogs, and understands the pack pecking order. Chloe is a great listener – responds to her name, understands when she is told no, and comes when she is called.  She walks very well on a leash preferring to stay right near you and does not pull. When she comes in from a walk she loves to play, bowing down to those around her looking for a willing participant. Chloe loves her kennel, enjoys resting in the warmth of the woodstove, and likes to be around people.  She attaches quickly and follows around the ones that make her feel safe. She sits nicely waiting to be told what’s next and her whole body wiggles when her tail wags.  Chloe is so sweet and will make a wonderful addition to a loving family. She is ready and waiting for her forever home. “

Chloe is a healthy upper medium sized gal and weighs about 23-25kg. She would be best suited to an adult home with an existing male dog (medium to x-large) for companionship. She hasn’t reacted to cats in the past however, more testing would be required. Chloe has the typical lower energy of a dog her age and definitely enjoys her cosy naps. She would also be thrilled to have a home with a yard. Could you be the person to show Chloe that the world can be a safe gentle place for her now?
