It’s not easy being the son of the infamous “chicken eater” of Catemaco. But our Friday Fuzzy, Sargentos, promises he knows the difference between right and wrong!
Sargentos and his 3 siblings were picked up off the street by FDC’s Dona Rita last year during a downpour. Because of the potential for flooding, Sargentos and his brothers were brought to safety and kept quarantined in Dona Rita and her husband Mario’s home. Because they were very young puppies at the time, Dona Rita went out and also found and rescued their mother. She was spayed, but chased chickens in Doña Rita’s yard and that’s when Dona Rita’s poor chickens met their fate by the “Come Pollo”.
Since their quarantine Sargentos and crew have spent the last 9 months being socialized in the shelter environment. Sargentos has grown into a happy-go-lucky boy who has a calm energy about him even though he is only about a year old. He really loves the company of other dogs and has become a bit of the social butterfly of the shelter. At every chance, Sargentos loves to go visit his pals in other areas of the shelter. He and his siblings stay in the shelter corridor so they have gotten used to the noise and comings and goings of people, deliveries etc.
Sargentos absolutely adores Dona Rita and her husband Mario but also doesn’t take long to warm up to others. He is good, nice dog who would make a great companion to another dog in a family.
